What's this I hear you think. Well yesterday as I just got back from a trip to the DIY store, I read on Twitter that a couple of people have left Maxis / EA to start their own studio. From what I read they are going to make simulation games. And the focus right now is with the iPad:

We're starting off on the iPad with a fundamentally new simulation engine - I can't wait to start showing it off.

This new studio is called Jellygrade and consists of Ocean Quigley, Andrew Willmott and Dan Moscowitz. Awesome folks. Sad to see them go but at the same time I'm curious to see what they are going to do from now on.

I have been a little occupied with my hardware the past few days. I didn't forget about the news, don't worry!

So SimGuruTaterTot has posted plenty of new sneak peeks on the official Sims 3 forums this week. And it is really clear now that the new store content is a restaurant. Which means you can run your own restaurants. I am a little confused if this also means we will be able to sell other things and if we can have a bakery as well. But more about that later!

There is no way I am not buying this. So basically: I am buying this! How about you?

Excited! Eeeeeek! :D

So my boyfriend -Wouter- is really excited about the Steam Summer Sale that's currently going on. I was complaining that Origin had these huge sales going on for The Sims 3 games, which is a good thing of course. But it's US only! Argh! So then Wouter mentioned that The Sims 3 and expansions/stuff packs were on sale on Steam. The sale will end on July 22nd. If you are interested and a Steam user, go ahead and complete your collection. At least the Steam sale is worldwide, so everyone can enjoy it! Happy

Welcome to our weekly prize giveaway. Leave us a comment for a chance to win free game codes and other cool prizes while celebrating your favorite games. We do this every week—to stay in touch with these giveaways, like us on Facebook.

One of the most Iconic images in gaming is the PlumbBob (the green diamond-like symbol) from The Sims. Creating your own world and then proceeding to mess around with anything and anyone within it is one of the greatest gaming feelings out there. In what other game can you make friends with only ghosts? Where else can you have a big party and then proceed to lock every guest in the bathroom? At least without serious repercussions…

My favorite thing to do in The Sims is to steal everything not nailed down. The greatness of the game is that you can play it however you want to!

So what is your favorite thing to do in The Sims?

Do you like to make a version of yourself? Or perhaps create a version of your worst enemy and then mess with them—the possibilities are endless. For your chance to win a Maxis T-shirt (sizes: women’s M or L, men’s L or XXL) or a fun The Sims 17" decal, comment below and tell us about your favorite thing to do in The Sims. We love creativity!

Like, Comment on, or Share the official Facebook post for this giveaway to boost your chances to win. Entries must be posted by July 14th at 11:59pm PT to be considered.

The Origin team will pick five (5) random commenters to win this week’s prize. Please note, only one entry per person is permitted for each giveaway, and only residents of North America, aged 18 and older, who are not EA employees or affiliated with an EA employee, are eligible. Winners will be contacted via email on their registered Origin/EA email address to claim their prize.  Good luck!

It's US-only. I wish I could participate! Never got the chance to get myself some of these Sims prints. Oh well...

Another hint at the Open for Business store content? Who knows? But SimGuruCopeland (Alan) just posted this screen with two Sims sitting at a table, having a look at the menu cards we also saw in yesterday's screen with Crumplebottom in it. Oh please SimGurus, please please please please please let us have bakeries as well!

What to have, what to have...

11 Jul 2013 - 18:00

What are you doing?? I sure hope you paid for that! #justsomethinimworkingon

Yesterday SimGuruSmitty (Lisa) posted a screen on Twitter hinting at Open for Business. See the screen above!

Then later on she tweeted in response to other Simmers:

Not saying much but our next world is looking amazing. :P

And today SimGuruCopeland (Alan) posted a screen showing (I think) Crumplebottom sitting at a table, waiting for lunch it seems, with a menu in front of her:

Is it lunchtime yet?

Does this mean we're getting Open for Business after all? It would make my Sims 3 experience complete for sure (along with Into the Future and Movie Stuff of course) :D
